Scholz urges Germans to ‘trust the government’ after decision to send tanks to Ukraine

The German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, urged the public in Germany to “trust me, and trust the federal government” after the decision to provide Ukraine with Leopard 2 battle tanks. Berlin announced it would send a company of Leopard 2A6 tanks and give the required authorisation for other European countries to deliver the German-manufactured machines.
